Fredericksburg, Texas is a very laid back town. Silver Creek Beer Garden & Grille created a place to come relax and enjoy yourself sorta like an European ninety.
Silver Creek, the property itself, is a house built in 1908 by Robert Streigler. He built this house right next to this giant Bodark tree. They believe that this tree is 400 years old. It's the best shade in town. You can sit outside under the shade of the bodark tree have a sandwich or sit in the dining room of the old historic house, said Chris Zielinski, owner.
We actually serve traditional German cuisine and but we also have other lunch fare. We call our cuisine Texcollectit. Which means that we use Texas beef and we try to use all local produce from the area. We upgraded the kitchen to state of the art so now when that patio fills up, we have a brand new kitchen that can keep up with such a great demand. And, our bartenders are the best anywhere. So when people come now and they wanna stay for an hour and a half, it's not cuz they're waitin for their food. It's because they love this place.
At lunch time, if you want a nice German beer we have 16 beers on draft and 100 in bottles to chose from. We have the largest selection of beer and the best top shelf bourbon in the Texas Hill Country. Silver Creek is the only restaurant with a full bar on Main Street. Lunch is served from 11 to 4 daily. Dinner from 5 to 9, serving till 10 on Friday and Saturday nights. The dinner fare is a little more upscale. They like to call it black tie food with blue jean attitude. Silver Creek believes that you should be able to have a great meal and not have to get dressed up to go get it.
At nighttime when you drive by and see the full patio you realize that they have created something that a lot of people love. Who doesn't like to sit outside under that 400 year old bodark tree with a great meal, a cold beer and live music. On weekends they have live music in the Beer Garden till 1:30 in the morning because they believe that people do not necessarily want to go to be at 9 o'clock when they're done eating.
