Canyon Lake is known as the Water Recreation Capital of Texas. Canyon Lake has beautiful, clear water stocked with fat, striped bass. It is surrounded by campgrounds, day parks, hiking trails, and much more.
Canyon Lake is a small yet beautiful place located about 25 miles to the west of New Braunfels and San Marcos and roughly 40 miles to the north of San Antonio.
It is also positioned adjacent to the world renowned Canyon Lake which releases its water deposits to another famous water body, the Guadalupe River. The lake’s surface area reaches roughly 8,230 acres and has a shoreline about 80 miles long.
You’ll definitely want to explore the Guadalupe River. Whether you go tubing, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery, your experience will be something you won’t soon forget! The area prides itself in its picturesque scenes which are highlighted by spectacular lake and waterfront views, as well as rich wildlife such as roadrunners, white tailed deer, and foxes. And there’s no shortage of mountainous terrains or camping and hiking spots.
