Head to the River or Lake: Folks up north pack a winter survival kit such as blankets, water, food, etc., just in case their car is caught in a winter storm. Here we pack a summer fun kit in the car including towels, river shoes, sun screen, bathing suit, and an ice chest just in case we decide to jump in and cool off at a riverside park or decide on the spur of the moment go tubing or kayaking. And remember to keep the fishing pole handy as well!

Get Lost in History: Visit one of our area museums. Take a walk with the dinosaurs, dig for dinosaur bones, and see over 100 full body mounts of animals from all regions of the globe displayed in hand-painted dioramas depicting their natural habitat at the Bandera Natural History Museum. Visit the Stalls of Fame depicting Bandera’s rodeo stars, the Texas Heroes Hall of Honor and curiosities from around the world at the Frontier Times Museum.
